What is Google Ads? How Will We Grow Your Business?

Google Ads is an advertising product from Google that allows you to advertise in top positions and easily reach your potential customers. With Google Ads, you can secure the top position literally in just minutes, with no restrictions on the number of keywords or ad messages. You can advertise locally or globally, 24 hours a day or only during business hours. The platform is highly flexible, allowing you to advertise within a budget that suits you. The primary advantage is that your ads are shown only to people who are actively searching for your products and services. You only pay when someone visits your website, meaning you pay for results. This type of advertising is known as pay-per-click (PPC).

Best Practices in Google Advertising

Before reaching out to a Google Ads agency, ask yourself the following question: “What results do I expect from my Google Ads advertising?” The answer typically pertains to your business goals, and to ensure measurability, specific conversions should be defined, such as:
Online sales

  • Inquiries via forms or emails
  • Phone inquiries
  • Subscriptions

With clearly defined conversions, you will be able to more easily calculate your return on investment for advertising. For this purpose, it is essential to set up conversions in advance.

Test the speed of your website. Google always “rewards” faster websites by ranking them higher at a lower cost.

Who is my ideal customer? How do they search for my services/products? Put yourself in your customers’ shoes.

Pay attention to the content on your landing pages—titles, subtitles, descriptions, images, videos, navigation. Ranking on Google leads to visits from interested individuals, but the sale occurs on your website, specifically on your landing page. Describe your business and products in the best possible way. Provide sufficient benefits and competitive solutions for your clients.

Provide proof! You can tell the best story and make the greatest promises, but it’s important to substantiate that everything you claim is true.

Professional Advertising on Google Ads

Advertising on Google is successful and effective primarily due to the three undeniable "R's":

  • Reach: It has a broad reach, allowing you to easily connect with any country, city, or region in your chosen language.
  • Relevance: The services and products you offer are shown only to people actively searching for them, ensuring that demand and supply align and are relevant.
  • ROI: High return on investment, as your ads are displayed only to potential customers seeking information about your business and ready to make a purchase.

Google Ads allows you the flexibility to set your budget and allocate it according to your preferences and capabilities. All data on visits and user behavior is collected through Google Analytics, and conversions are tracked via Conversion Tracking. With Google Ads, top positions can be secured literally in minutes, regardless of the country, language, number of keywords, or ads.

Once your business welcomes its first visitors from Google, a series of questions typically arise, such as:

  • Is this budget sufficient?
  • Are these click prices too high?
  • Should I accept Google’s recommendations?
  • Why do my ads have a low score?
  • Should I change my bidding strategy?
  • Where exactly are my ads being displayed?
  • What does CTR mean?
  • What is the Conversion Rate?
  • How do I compare against my competition?

All of these questions require a solid understanding of the platform and its metrics. There is a significant misconception regarding Google Ads; many people believe that there is a one-time effort involved when starting the advertising, and after that, everything is managed by Google. (Success!) Optimization is a continuous process that impacts every level of your Google Ads account. Continuous monitoring is required, along with a schedule for checks and adjustments at all levels of the account. After implementing changes, you need to monitor whether they have led to improvements. If you don't know what you’re doing, your budget will evaporate, and your ads will disappear from Google rankings.

It's only a matter of time before you realize that working with a professional Google Ads agency is much faster, more cost-effective, and easier. Often, after the intervention of experts, the same advertising budget can achieve exponential growth in conversions. This means more sales with less effort and fewer headaches.

Tools in Google Ads – Keyword Planner, Display Planner

Conduct preliminary research on supply and demand in Google. Fill out all fields, search and download the data in Excel.

Recommendation: For additional convenience, process the data in Excel. Create separate columns for keywords based on their importance to your business.

How to Plan a Budget for Advertising on Google Ads?

The budget for Google Ads depends on three main factors:

  • Google search volume
  • Competition and average click prices
  • Expected results

Example: Minimum budget for advertising "Korean facial cosmetics": After preliminary research, 160 keywords have been compiled, divided into two separate lists:

  • General keywords, such as "cosmetics," "facial cosmetics," "natural cosmetics," etc. Typically, such keywords have higher search volume (approximately 15,000 per month), higher competition, and click prices between 0.40 BGN and 0.50 BGN.
  • More specific keywords that are closer to the product we offer: "therapeutic cosmetics," "Korean facial cosmetics," "snail facial cream," "green snail cosmetics," etc. Due to the specificity of the product, these keywords have lower search volume (about 5,000 per month), lower competition, and click prices between 0.20 BGN and 0.30 BGN.

Recommendation: The minimum number of visits in a month should be over 1,000. With 1,000 visits, you will be able to determine which keywords are more effective and which lead to conversions. With a lower number of visits, there is a risk of not receiving enough inquiries and requests.

In this specific example, the minimum budget can be determined based on the choice of keywords:

  • Option 1: One campaign primarily focused on specific keywords. At a click price of 0.25 BGN, achieving 1,000 visits would require a minimum of 250 BGN per month.
  • Option 2: Combined—two parallel campaigns with general and specific keywords. With average click prices of 0.25 BGN and 0.45 BGN, the minimum monthly budget for 1,000 visits would be 350 BGN. In this scenario, it's important to monitor the conversions from each campaign and reallocate the budget to the more profitable keywords.

In the prices outlined for advertising on Google Ads, we have detailed why it is important to plan advertising campaigns for at least 3 months.

Campaign Setup in Google Ads

From an effectiveness standpoint, it is advisable to create separate campaigns for different ads in Google Ads. Depending on the type of ad messages (text, banner, video, app), each campaign should ideally be set up in a different network. If you are advertising in the search engine, it's better to choose only the "Search Network" without including "Display." It’s more practical and effective to create a separate campaign with different settings and budget for the "Display Network."

Recommendation: The search network is a proven source of new customers, but you can always achieve broader reach with Performance Max. Additionally, there are options to increase repeat orders through various remarketing campaigns.

Ad Scheduling in Google Ads

If you are working with a minimal budget and serving clients within an 8-hour window, there’s no need to allocate budget for the remaining 16 hours. Additionally, the scheduling feature offers the option for active bidding, allowing for bid adjustments to be made for more competitive bidding during specific times.

Recommendation: If you are operating with a limited budget, advertise only on weekdays within your business hours.

Excluding IP Addresses in Google Ads

In certain industries, competition is very high, and invalid clicks often accumulate. Although Google reimburses the amount for invalid clicks, potential customers are lost, especially in emergency service sectors such as plumbing repairs, locksmith services, and others. Google offers a solution to this issue by allowing you to create a list of IP addresses where ads should not be displayed.

Recommendation: Periodically collect data on all IP addresses from your hosting provider and add them to the exclusion list. Be cautious when selecting addresses.

Additional Recommendation: Use software to limit invalid clicks.

Geographic Targeting and Active Bidding in Google Ads

Geographic targeting in Google Ads is flexible and allows for active bid management (Active Bid Adjustments).

Example: If you are advertising nationwide but prioritize cities like Sofia and Plovdiv, you can set a higher bid adjustment (+30%) for those cities or specific areas. In smaller towns, the demand and competition are lower, so you can set a lower bid adjustment (-20%).

Recommendation: If you are advertising in only one city, add all other cities to the exclusion list.
